A Degree in Global Affairs Can Prepare You for a Wide Range of Career Options

Global affairs is a field that studies the interactions between countries and international organizations on a worldwide scale. It encompasses diplomatic relations, trade, security, human rights and more. The United Nations, which was established during decolonization, plays a central role in global affairs by providing a forum for dialogue, conflict resolution and cooperation among nations. The UN, along with its specialized agencies, is also active in addressing issues that transcend national boundaries such as poverty, famine and climate change.

Our world is becoming increasingly interdependent, and careers in global affairs provide unique opportunities to contribute to solutions that affect us all. With a degree in global affairs, you’ll learn to think critically across different cultures, time periods and disciplines—skills that will serve you in any career path you choose.

In this interdisciplinary program, you’ll study political science, history, economics, geography, journalism, sociology and more to develop a rich understanding of the global landscape. Then you’ll apply your skills in a capstone project that provides a real-world perspective on pressing issues such as terrorism, human rights or climate change. You’ll also have the opportunity to engage with a wider community through our study abroad and internship programs, or through our 3+3 bachelor’s/law school track that can help you fast-track to a career in law or public policy.
